I needed to tow my car from Elk Grove village to Schaumburg: approximately 7.1miles. I went on google and chose the first option; McKay’s Wrecker Service. The so-called “Manager” by the name of Malachi....gave me prices over the phone in which he said $*/mile with $*** hookup fee. I told him that I want it and I even double checked the price with him before I hung up the phone. A different number(the tow truck) called me 15min later. While I was waiting in my car. The tow truck driver called me to tell me he’ll be there in *0-40min and told me not to cancel it cause he was already on his way. I waited for this guy 45min. When he got there, I asked him about the price as he was hooking my car up, and he said “yeah we’ll figure it out when we arrive” and “we don’t work with those guys”. To cut it short, we got to my destination, he detached my car, and proceed to show me the price of $******. I proceed to pay because he told me he was in a rush. I called Malachi for an explanation on why I had to pay for the 45min I had to wait for him to get there, and a seperate unhooking fee that was added to the quote. I was treated with rudeness. Malachi reappeared himself stating that I ordered a tow and I got it didn’t I. I’ve figured out McKay’s wrecker service go through a third party tow company called Mightys towing and recovery which is not stars on the website and not mentioned over the phone until you have to pay on site. Huge scammers
