I received an email claiming that $499.99 was automatically withdrawn from my account for a McAfee subscription. The email stated that if I did not authorize the transaction then I had to cancel it within 24 hours. I called the number provided, someone answered and gave me instructions. This person told me that he could get me a refund through this application called Aweray Remote. The application gave him access to my home screen. Through that application, he told me that the amount to be refunded had to be input in decimal form and without the dollar sign. For example, 500.00 instead of $500 or $500.00. After this attempt, a glitch occurred with the decimal, making the amount to become $50,000 instead of $500.00. After this happened, this person made me believe that this was a mistaken deposit and I had to go from branch to branch to withdraw large sums of money and return back to McAfee. He told me not to mention the reason behind the withdrawals because the bank would put a hold on my account if I did. He also kept affirming that I was not losing any money from my account because my account was connected to some sort of banking gateway which I later learned does not exist. After I sent him 50K, he made me pay about $6,000 which he claimed was for local government. That's how I lost $56,000.

It was a PC protection website to keep your computer from being hacked. They keep sending me emails stating that my subscription is expired and will be renewed. I never asked for renewal and cancelled it online. When you call the representative they want you to sit in front of a computer and give them your personal information

Texted me thanking me for order of 459,99 for McAfee software. I called # given to deny charge . They said they would refund me and had me sign into my bank account. They said first refund would be 150 and the I would get the rest. It looked like they had taken over my computer. Asked me to type 150 which I did and then 2 0’s were added and they said I made a mistake ( or my keyboard did it) and made a big drama about how I must pay back the 15000 or he would loose his job. Then directed me to go to my bank and withdraw 15000, deduct my 459.99 refund and get the cash to them .

First asked to give it to an individual who would meet me there….. I refused, then put his “supervisor “ on , a female. Who instructed me to take the cash and deposit it into a Bitcoin ATM. In setting me up to do this. unfortunately I typed my ss# into the screen. What I have done so far is talk to an **** volunteer fraud specialist, put a freeze on those bank accounts. Btw, they help me see what was done. Scammer moved money from one of my accounts to the other to make it look like the 15000 was deposited from outside

Over the course of 3 weeks I have received an email supposedly from McAfee 18 times stating my McAfee security for my PC expires 18 different days. Each came from a different email and included 20 reply to addresses. Jokes on them because I don’t have that security service or a PC
