I received an e-mail, at my place of business, from a gmail address tied to someone named "Brandy Goodman" that started off with: "Hey Customer,". The attachment was a letter from McAfee Security which reads:

"Dear Client,

On behalf of everyone at McAfee, I'd like to express our gratitude for your continued membership and support. Over the past year, your commitment to My Clean Pc have developed programs for users to fix computer issues and deep clean the system. We would now like to tell you that your membership is now renewed. Attached you will find your membership invoice and payment details made to this account. Your invoice number is 657878, YTou have been charged 396.00 USD for our service, which was activated on 16-08-2022. If you want to cancel this order immediately, you can contact us on +1 (830) 392-0400.

Thank you for your commitment to My Clean PC. We look forward to serving you for another year!"

This is clearly a scam and I deleted the email.

On 4/18/22, I received an email informing me that my McAfee Security subscription would be renewed for $279.00 on 5/15/22. When I searched the website, I discovered that the company used the McAfee Security name, but it is powered by Intuit QuickBooks, INC. I've dealt with McAfee antivirus in the past, but it was always through the official website. Also, the email address did not appear to be one McAfee would use. I believe this is a personal email ([email protected]). I wanted to notify the ScamPulse.com before any fraudulent activity occurred. I have not provided this fraudulent company with any of my personal information. I only responded by email, informing them that I had not authorized this transaction.

I received an email stating “Generously find-the-associated Invoice against the installment made by you for the auto-renewal mode for extending the subscription for the McAfee Security Plan. Amount due 379.79.

Mercifully Note that these charge’s will be considereed hour’s.

On the off chance that you wish to cancel the subscription or want to opt out for a refund against the payment made, if it’s not too much trouble, call our charging group at * *** *** ****.

When I called there was foreigner, who I could not understand. I told them to cancel.
