I received a text message from 724-795-5725 that read, "Thank you for your payment.ID #1178611250 is renewed for $329.89 with *Mc_Afee TOTAL (5 devices).Your subscription is active.Questions??Call (808)204-8805". Because of my career field in tech I immediately knew that this was a scam but it made me upset because I know several unsuspecting people who would click on the link they sent. I called the number to confirm that it was indeed a scam. The guy hung up on me because he knew that I knew since I was asking more questions and not giving him personal information. I called back because I know the more of their time I waste, the last time they have to scam other old ladies who wouldn't know better. Each time I've called, they've hung up after realizing who I was but I did manage to get one of them to tell me their (fake) name was John Martin, to which I responded, "hmm, that's interesting. I didn't realize John Martin was a common name in India. Where are you from?" But of course, his response was to hang up. I could hear he was in a calling center and there were multiple scammers at work in the background. PLEASE do not click any links that you receive from these scammers.
