My computer locked up and gave me a message to call an 888 number for help. I called the number and the company said that they could fix it and that I needed to buy a plan for $499 that would protect my computer for 3 years. Shortly after I hung up I received a call from Byron Salanski, Senior Account Rep for Matrix Techno Systems. Byron said that the company I had just spoken to is no longer handling this service and that they want to refund my my money. They directed me to a screen to enter the refund amount of $499. After I entered it and submitted it Byron said I made a mistake and entered a refund amount of $4,999 and that now he was going to loose his job because of the error. He directed me to go to Walmart and purchase a $2,000 Vanilla gift card and then go to Best Buy and purchase another $2,000 gift card. He said I could keep $999 of the $4,999 they refunded and to just pay him with these cards by giving the code. Walmart and Best Buy were closed so I called my bank this morning and they told me it was a scam. I have an appointment with Best Buy to get my computer cleaned and my bank shut down my accounts.
