There has been a jar and canning lid shortage, so I was forced to look online for some jars and lids to purchase, when I couldn’t find them in local stores. The website for Mason brand jars seemed very legitimate, and advertised that products are American made. I bought 3 dozen jars with lids at $16 per dozen, which is a good price. They were taking forever to arrive, so I contacted the company and included my order #. I was told that the jars were shipping from China. I asked why that would be, and was told that they had to look to China to fulfill demand. I finally received three boxes, each with just one jar. I had been expecting 36 jars. I complained, and was told I had to send pictures of what I received, and yet they require that a package be unopened to return for money back. In the meantime, the debit card I used to pay for the jars was compromised, but my bank contacted me immediately, and would not deduct a $99 bogus purchase from my account, and immediately cancelled the card. And wouldn’t you know, the Mason jar company offered to give me $10 back, as a PR or goodwill move, on the debit card. I think they knew the card was no longer in use. I think the London address is fake, and may be a different address than was on the site when I made my purchase in September, 2020. As you can see in the picture, the lid on the jar(s) I received is not a seal type lid with a ring. I could not find a phone number on their “contact us” page.
