I’m currently working with him. He stated his last assistant left to take care of family overseas due to Covid. I’ve had training and/or work every week this past month. Never a zoom or face to face call but lots of exchanges this past month via WhatsApp messenger and phone calls. He just asked today for my credit card username and password for expense purposes. I made it clear we could use my bank account which I provided for payroll purposes. After reading these 2 interactions, I’m becoming skeptical. Started working contract agreement with him 1/6/2022. When did you contract with Mr. Mashiri and what other experiences have you had?!?

This lawyer named Alex offered me a job as his assistant (remote) for his law firm. He promised to pay during the training period as well. I joined him on August, he hasn’t paid until today (November 23,2021). He just made me work on couple of assignments, applied a fidelity card using my name. He also made me open an account on the bitcoin website using my credentials. Not even once he has made a video call with me. There’s no response for my calls or text. Perfect scammer.

I would like to know more as I am in the same exact situation. It kind of felt "too good to be true", but it also seemed at least kind of legit. I've had 2 phone calls with him and exchanged several emails. Most of the communication takes place via WhatsApp. When I filled out the employment paperwork I added my bank info (for direct deposit) and social which is pretty standard for hiring purposes. Suggestions of what to do to protect myself? Should I just bail? Thank you.
