She went by "Mary Courtney" and followed the puppy scamming playbook to the letter. I found her on a Bulldog puppy Facebook page and inquired about puppies she had posted. The price was cheaper than I had encountered before. All conversations were through Facebook messenger. My money was paid for ($1,200) with a deposit through Zelle and she provided me with a contract which appeared legitimate. When it came time to picking up the puppy however, she said that her husband was out of town at the last minute and would have the puppy delivered. She worked with a fake pet delivery service that also asked for money.
