I was initially contacted by a Melissa Rosa at [email protected] about a puppy from her litter that needed to be re homed. Melissa Rosa is the name of a breeder associated with Dagobah Doberman's in Freehold, NY. I began this conversation knowing that this is legitimate breeder in the area. Melissa advised me that a puppy she recently sold to individual were unable to care for it anymore because they were relocated to Iowa for work and no longer had the time to care for the puppy. Melissa told me to reach out to Mary Ann Raymond at [email protected] in order to adopt the 11 week old Doberman puppy that needed a new home for $700. I agreed to do this. Mary Ann then send me information on the puppy, age, sex, commands known, and pictures. Mary Ann then continued to send me an adoption application where I would pay $500 to cover shipping and then $200 upon receipt of the pup. I agreed to this and paid the $500. The next day, I was supposed to get tracking information for the flight the pup was on. The carrier was Global Easy Transport - which had a website and tracking information included. Mary Ann then informed me that I needed to pay an additional $800 for insurance on the puppy's trip that would be refunded same day. I refused to do this as it was not in the contract and I was not able to contact anyone at the carrier in regards to this. Subsequent email's to Mary Ann Raymond's email and Melissa Rosa's email have gone unanswered. I attempted to call the real Dagobah Doberman's to alert them of this fraud, as I do not believe they are involved, just possibly hacked, and have not received a response at this time.
