I received a call from 855-241-6424 which my cell phone identifies as Marketplace Loan (I've also seen it ID'd as Loan Depot on other sites). The caller--in poor English--stated I had completed a loan application and only needed to provide a few more additional details. He requested my social security number to lookup my account. I refused, stated I never completed an application, and requested not to be contacted again.

I've subsequently been baraged by calls from this company (at least five a day, although my phone blocks them). I accepted one and demanded they stop calling and said "either you are a fraud or, if you are a legit company, someone is scamming you." The phone rep still wouldn't do anything unless I provided my SSN. I hung up.

Regardless if this company is legit or not, their business practices are shady. Fair or not, it feels like foreign callers asking about financials are almost always a scam.
