I applied for a job at Marketing180 from a listing off of Handshake (a college job board). I got a text and email from supposedly their vice president, James Nelson, asking me to submit a sample writing assignment for rooms101.com. After completing the assignment (which took a few hours), they ask me to fill out a review of the application process. However, the link they provide for the review is just a pdf screenshot of the google reviews page for rooms101.com. I think "o.k., they accidently sent me the wrong thing", so I email back letting them know. They send me another link, this time a URL which takes me to the google reviews page for rooms101.com. At this point I'm confused. I text James Nelson about this and he says "Yes this is our clients google page. This is just a review of your writing assignment". His line did not follow at all, it had the air of a non-native English speaker attempting to reply to a message that they did not expect. At this point I call their number on their (very professional looking website -- a wolf in sheep clothing perhaps) and don't receive an answer. I call a few more times and notice that their links to their facebook page and twitter don't work either. At this point, I'm convinced the whole thing is a scam. Their name is also no coincidence I imagine, as another company with a similar name exists, "180 Marketing", which might be a legit site.
