A man going by the name of Mark Stevens contacted my parents and indicated that their grandson (my son) was involved in a MVA early this morning and that he suffered minor injuries and was charged with a DUI. He indicated that the incident happened in Raleigh NC and that he was being moved to a halfway house in Charlotte at the current time. He instructed my parents to send $6,500.00 in "cash only" to the so-called halfway house at 8721 Brampton Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. Once payment was received, my son would be released. My parents contacted me and I was able to contact my son who was not involved in a MVA and is doing fine. The call from "Mark Stevens" is a SCAM!!!! DO NOT ACCEPT CALLS OR SEND CASH TO ANYONE OVER A PHONE CALL. Check ALL sources before trusting a stranger on the other end of the telephone.

The owner of 8721 Brampton Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 is Jorge Torres.
