If you see Mark Kimbrough of Mark of All Trades Carpentry RUN! He's a master manipulator. He said he could complete my basement and he actually created a bigger mess. In October of 2021 we agreed to an 8 week contact. He quoted us $40,000 in labor and $14,000 in materials. He promised to be done by December 2021.

He provided his drivers license, home address, and liability insurance along with a lengthy contract.

We provided $10,000 deposit, and agreed to $3,000 a week until completion. He talks a good game. He's a fraud. We hired Mark via Thumbtack. He came almost 2 times a weekly, once to complete some work, then on Friday's to collect the check. Right before thanks giving he claims to get sick, so no work for a week. Then his son, then his ex-wives sister got aids and he had to be with family. Me and my husband understood, and thought both of it. The last straw was in January, he sent the same photos of him in the hospital as in November. Mind you we did not ask for proof, he always sent pictures to validate himself. We got pictures of flat tires, him being at the bank, and even cash app deposits of him moving. We had already given $22,500 plus $13,500 in materials when we told him we weren't giving any more funds until he completed the project. That's when the communication stopped. It turned out he wasn't planning on finishing the project. In April we finally sent a text to come take off the key lock he placed on the door and he simply texted okay.

This “ God Fearing Man of God” Allowed his crew to smoke weed in my house, play loud music, and he got mad when I questioned him.

It is so easy to get scammed by Mark Kimbrough. He is socialable and talks alot. He talks a big game about his skills, expertise, and experience. I was drawn and thought hey he can be a friend and he's giving me a special deal because of our connection. He makes your home improvement project seem so small and can't compare to his projects because he's a general contractor. I realize now that is now I got scammed. I am so embarrassed to tell anyone or to believe that this could happen to me. He would seem like he's professional at first but he really shows up to work only two hours once or twice a week. There's always something. At first, long lines at the home Depot, detour, needing to go across town 100 miles to go to his special parts store. Then family issues, car issues, health and injuries. Goes on for over a month. Those are some of the excuses he give when he doesn't show up when he said he would or that he's on his way. Yet, he ends up not showing and say he's coming tomorrow for a full day. That does not happen. When I finally ask for a timeline because I have a deadline to meet, he yells at how I'm inconsiderate and how this job isn't easy. I then negotiate to just finishing up the mess he made. He came but then the cycle repeats and continues to blames the difficulty if the job and house on me. After 8 weeks, I got a second opinion to assess and the result is that he made a mess. He completely did it wrong for the foundational pieces. He didn't do much work and that he definitely did not do the amount of work thay equates to how much I already paid him. I'm depressed about this. I have taken a financial till and so has my credit from phone sales or all the parts and materials he needed at the stores. Interacting with him causes me anxiety because he would just go off about my being inconsiderate and "bad house" and how I need to gut it to his yelling. The second opinions I had said I have a nice house! I'm scared to deal with him. I really tried to be flexible and considerate. I really am embarrassed and hate myself for letting this happen to me. Such scams affect not just my finances but mental, emotional, and safety health. I am now living in a not ideal space that causes me stress and more money until I can feel safe, sound, and relax in my own home.

Mark Kimbrough will contract you via phone, emails and social media and also frequents Home Depot at Cascade and other home improvement stores passing out his business cards to shoppers. He will indicate that he is licensed, bonded/insured and specializing in insurance claims; promising to save you a lot of money by performing all work himself; using no subcontractors.

He creates extremely long project contracts filled with duplicated statements; inconsistencies and contradictions. If you ask that the contract be modified; he will insist it is written for your benefit and say "I perform work for insurance claims all the time; just trust me". He will then offer prayer about your partnership for the job. He will then provide all requested documents to the insurance company; unfortunately, the most important are fraudulent/fake to include his business license, insurance coverage and W9. He will state that he is going to perform all work himself; no subcontractor.

He will place special emphasis on his love of God and insist on praying with you with the intention of PREYING ON YOU. He will contact you with kind words and encouragement almost daily until the funds are in hand; at that time his personality changes and you will likely never see him again.

Do not release any funds to him; he will sign acknowledging receipt of funds then you will never see him again and he will mock your attempts to obtain justice because he has mastered this theft by deception act.
