Marine Services Corporations Reports & Reviews (1)

- Peoria, IL, USA • Jan 09, 2024

Person claim to be the CEO of Battle Creek Equipment Canada, a medical practitioner, 59 yrs old residing in Canada, born in Weimar, Germany but coming to the USA for 12 months starting January 22nd, 2024 to do charity work, travel, and seminars. The position on Indeed was for a company listed as Marine Services Corporation with an opening for a private driver/chauffeur. The company's representative initial contact after the application was submitted contacted the person via text message. The text message stated that if the applicant was still interested in the job to submit an email to [email protected] to learn more about the pay and hours for the position. This was Sunday, January 07th, 2024 at 0845am from (832) 476-9596.

The applicant sent the email as requested to the above mentioned email address. The company responded to the email today, Tuesday, January 09th, 2024 at 0818am via email stating to click on the link (https://.form.jotform.com/231664078405053) to learn more about the pay and hours for the position. Upon clicking the link, the applicant noticed there was an application form for driver/chauffeur position for a company header titled Battle Creek Equipment. On this application form (website info at top was listed as form.jotform.com) the company stated the person was the CEO and would pay $1300/ week for 3 days of driving and needed the applicant's information to send a 2020 Mercedes to the applicant's home to be available to pick him up at the airport on the 22nd of January. The itinerary details would be sent later after receipt of the applicant's information as requested. The asked for things already listed on the applicant's resume on Indeed. Plus, the person never called for a phone interview and never answered the phone when calling the number that sent the initial text message. No voicemail, no company messaging system on the phone number either. The number just kept ringing. The application form had numerous typos and grammatical errors after a second look at it for authenticity. A CEO would not be contacting applicant's himself. The CEO would have his HR team set up what was needed for his business trip. A company would not deliver a car to a new employee's home. The company would require the employee to pick the vehicle up at the place of business or at the hiring person's resident. We're reporting this as a scam to ensure any data collected on the applicant for use in any way without his permission can be stopped and prevent.

Also, the applicant form stated the person hired needs experience with the USPS and FedEx, which is a definite RED FLAG. Why would it matter if the person had experience with either of those companies? It is not necessary to perform the duty of simply driving a person around, unless they have another agenda in mind.
