I placed an ad on Craigslist to see a mirror for $450. I was contacted shortly thereafter by [email protected] to ask if the mirror was still available. After I said yes, her "cousin" reached out to me and told me the mirror was for her. She requested (after a lot of back and forth) that I accept a cashier's check and cash it, take the money out that she paid me for the mirror (450+80=530 the $80 was to hold the mirror until she could retrieve it. She sent $2400. It came by USPS mail with a tracking number. I immediately thought the check was fraudulent but took it to my bank where they confirmed it. She then wrote me a scathing text saying that she was going to report me to the "FBI and CIA". I told her I knew her check was fraudulent. I haven't heard back from her since. She now has my cell phone number, email and home address. I am away from home so I can't give the details that were on the check.
