They scheduled the interview via signal instant messaging app. The interview seemed legitimate, they asked all the questions most interviews would ask but it was all conducted though this messaging app. I was then ‘hired’ after the interview and ‘background check’. I filled out a w-4 form though email and was promised a sign in bonus of $3k via mailed check. Everything was too good to be true. Promised to work at my own time, promised a computer, desk and all the software I would need all provided by the company.
What finally made me question it all was their demands to sign into ID.me to access my information.
I’ve never been through this kind of ‘hiring process’.
