Type of a scam: Online Purchase

Filled out their "contact us" form which seemed to have red flags however their website has elaborate explanations about the health care of the dog etc...so it made it seem legitimate. Received an email and text a day later from an Ashley Nelly. Tried to call with questions. No voice mail or normal standard "You have reached..." just beeped. Left a message. No call back. Decided to search breeder website scams and realized this was probably a fake site.

I was shopping online for a maltipoo puppy I came across this website maltesemode.online Which claims to be a small family oriented hobby breeders. I emailed inquiring about a puppy for sale they emailed me back with questions like if I have the money for the puppy, who would watch the puppy if I had to go on vacation, do I have other pets etc..it has to be paid through cash app or Zelle the name is Kathleen Matheny. Cash app name kathleenmath. I cash app $820 for the puppy to be delivered to me at my residents. I called the number to ask questions and no one ever answered my call or called back. Strictly email or text I had questions to change my delivery options 1 week head of expected delivery date and they kept going around my question not really texting back finally texted back rudely and still didn’t answer my question.

Delivery wasn’t on the date agreed upon said it would be the next day and I’d have delivery info in the next two hours. They emailed me a pdf pending delivery form requesting a payment of $960 for delivery and would be refunden at the airport time of pickup.i had a feeling it was a scam I googled the company name and I saw a whole bunch of bad reviews I felt like such an [censored] but atleast I didn’t follow through with the additional $960.

We check out this company as well as we cold and sent them $820. Found out later it was a scam. Their web site needs to be taken down or warned about We went thru the app they recommended and our bank has filed a complaint, SunTrust.
