Type of a scam Online Purchase

I saw the Ad on facebook on the merchandise that they are selling at a low price compared to other retail stores. Their website looks very legit, so I added the merchandise I wanted to purchase. After, I gave all the info needed to purchase the merchandise, my bank debit card would not take (1st red flag), I'm thinking it was a glitch, so I ran it through again, but encountered the same problem. I then called their telephone, and to my surprise the telephone number had a Texas area code (2nd red flag), but the business address is located in Minnesota (3rd red flag). Plus, the number was out of service telephone number (4th red flag). Then I looked up their address, and I found out it was a residence instead of a business (5th red flag). I immediately checked my bank account to see if there are any unauthorized withdrawals, and so far so good. Now, I will close out my Bank debit card, and I will order a new one. What I learned was to do these 3 things to check to see if it is a legit online business: 1. Check their telephone by calling them and talking to a live person 2.Email them for a response 3. google their address to see a map view of the location of their business
