I reached out to a breeder on www.mainecooncorner.com regarding a Maine [censored] Kitten. He texted me back shortly after and began to send me pictures of the kitten in question. He stated he would not proceed to speak with me unless he could confirm I had a Zelle account. I found it odd but proceeded as the kitten was beautiful! I sent $400 to hold the kitten on 5/30/19 and the next day sent a remaining $482 on 5/31/19. Throughout this time I’ve spoken with him on the phone and he sounded pretty legit. When I sent him the balance owed, he emailed me an invoice of the service that would be delivering the kitten to my local airport. The delivery company had a website of www.manisonexpress.com and I contacted them the day of the supposed delivery. They stated my kitten was being “held” because a refundable insurance fee of $534 needed to be paid and the sender should have notified me of this. I then called the breeder numerous times and finally got a hold of him, he stated he couldn’t pay the insurance fee because he didn’t have the money. When I stated that I JUST paid him $882 and he could pay the insurance from there since it was refundable he stated he didn’t have the money I paid for the kitten because he paid his bills with it!

I reported him to my bank as fraud.
