Wanted to get a Maine [censored] cat for my husband. Commented under the pictures and requested they IM me. Gave me all kinds of info about the kittens—photos, temperament, shots, when to neuter, etc. Said they were 12 weeks. Requested an initial deposit and balance upon receipt of kittens. Wanted PayPal or CashApp. Gave the $300 deposit after speaking with seller. Seller then called back stating since we were getting 2 cats needed a higher deposit of $200 more. Sent that and then seller called an hour later and said wife was demanding an additional $150. I refused but would pay in full upon receiving cats. Then said for transport it was an additional $100. Covid prevented any meet and greet (which animal shelters are also instituting but the will do video chats.) I said I would pay upon arrival of cats. Seller gave me a speech about how he was a Minister and gave his life to God and can not be untruthful, blah, blah, blah. I requested my money back as it seemed fishy....called my bank who said they couldn’t do anything until my money was deposited by the seller. Once the transaction went through I called the bank who then said they couldn’t do anything. I contacted FB and informed them about fraudulent sales but they kept the post up. Seller has now blocked comments as I wrote stating my story. FYI, seller had a thick accent, said they could actually fly the cats out of state.... this after I had made the deposit. Of course, never got the cats and am out $500. Pic below of 1 of the kittens I was to receive. They asked for my and my husbands full names, address and phone number. Foolishly I gave it! Now I’m concerned what they can use it for. CashApp for seller is $CeciliabridgeR. Beware!!!
