Additional Information about the Courier at the End (Report 2/2): I was looking to purchase a guitar that I was having difficultly finding elsewhere but a google search led me to Westside Music Studio. I didn't have most of the offered payment options, and though I didn't initially find anything negative about the company I didn't want to use my CC because I wasn't familiar with the company so I opted to use Zelle. I received an order confirmation at 2:57 on 2/28/24 that has the order information but also said "unable to initiate payment." So I used the chat widget on their website to make sure everything was fine and they replied a minute later saying another email would come with payment information. It did, so I sent the amount ($225) )to the Zelle email along with a screenshot. My final email from them let me know that the order was confirmed and that I would be hearing from the courier regarding information a shipping number and to let them (the seller) know when I received a shipment notification from the courier. This all happened 2/28/24. Two days later (3/2/2024), I received the email from the courier with tracking information from their website. In that same email (by the courier) I was told my order required insurance. After 72 hours, my order would be delayed, and after 14 days the shipment was would discarded. Additionally, they wrote that they had my on record that my default payment methods was Zelle, so they told me to send $242 to that email to get my item shipped. And after successful delivery of the shipment I would receive 90% of that back. The seller never mentioned any type of potential insurance fee so I wrote to the courier company asking them to explain further. They did and I told them I did not feel comfortable sending an additional (unexpected) fee to a different company through Zelle so they could return the package to the store. Monday (3/4/24) , I wrote the seller through the chat widget again inquring about whether I would receive the refund if I canceled my order with no response. I also emailed them a little later letting them know the shipment would be returned to them with no response to that either. Today (3/7/24), wrote to them again on the chat widget with no response. I also called the number listed on the website twice as well as having friend call with no response. I finally emailed the courier asking for an update. They informed me the seller refused to pay the return fee so they cannot process my return. I cannot get in touch with the seller to arrange how I can get the item returned (whether that be a deduction through my original payment or otherwise) because they are no longer responding to me. After informing my friends, they also found an unclaimed business for this company with another person as recent as January 2024 also claiming to be scammed by this company. I can provide email, as well as screenshots of my chat on the widget if more information is necessary. This is also worrisome because while I can't get my money back (since I paid through Zelle), this company also directly accepts credit card information on their website. This report is specifically about the courier company asking for additional money. At no point in the term or conditions of the seller or any point during the transactions was I notified that I would need to pay additional money to a 3rd party entity to receive my package. They also will not give the option to ship without insurance nor will they send my any type of verification (outside of their website tracking system) that the item exists and they have it. There is also a review on google reviews about this company not following through on a delivery from a seller on Etsy so this may not be the first time they have done this.

Company using DOT logo and elaborate for asked for permit payment for shipping, which was paid. They then asked for more money to hand deliver item and said company who had shipped item was being informed of a violation of policy - threatening action if no payment, pleading email from vendor followed
