Was contacted through email about a job opening for a property management assistant position. Have been online searching and replying to many job postings on Craigslist, Indeed, Facebook, and many other sites looking for work so when I received this email I assumed it was in response to my inquiries from weeks before. They sent a link for a application which gave them access to all personal information. Received a check a few weeks later that was delivered by FedEx. Was a little taken back by amount of check but it didn't include any letter like I have seen posted about with other scams online. I wasn't told to deposit and send money back or buy gift cards or anything and the tasks they had me doing online posting marketing ads all seemed like it was a real company hiring me for 1099 work. I deposited the check into my account and a hold was put on the deposit until it cleared since it was a newer account. Thankfully they held all funds because the check came back invalid and Im not sure what they were expecting from that or if they are able now to get my bank account information from where I deposited it into my personal bank account however I know they now have my personal information and hours of work I put in for them with absolutely no compensation for my time!
