Type of a scam Online Purchase

Very well done web page. Wanted a small dog companion and saw the webste. All sounded good and the puppies shown are adorable. I have 9 email pages of communication trying to purchase one "Bear". In old my son because I was already afraid of a scam. The man (?) I was communicating with first asking for $600 which included door to door delivery. I was trying to find out where they were located to judge how long the delivery would be for Bear because I didn't want to purchase a puppy and put it through distress of travelling God knows how long. The telephone # is an Alabama code but he said they were in Arlington VA. He wanted payment through Western Union, Walmart to Walmart or money gram. Over several emails I was not comfortable with this, offered him a higher than asking price with COD, we finally agreed o $250 rest to be paid on delivery. At this point he did agree to credit card but the asked if I had PayPal. I asked for name, address & phone # to be able to confirm with the credi card company. Over the course of these 9 pages of emails I had a total of 5 names. Jenny & Shaw were names in the testimonials, Lucas Mathins name was given for western union pick up, Mason Bradley name given when I asked (no message was signed) and Geoffrey Sewell for credit card authorization. I also asked x4 for address & phone #. Was never given. After several tears I finally gave up because it really sounded like a scam.
