Promise of a 3rd party lender loan. Email said I was approved for a 50k personal loan. Once I showed interest I was then eventually informed that due to my less than desirable credit score, I would only be eligible for a secured loan. I would need collateral. I said that I don't have anything to cover 50k. I was then told that they would get back to me in a few hours. When they responded back after 2 hours, I was given 4 options to use for security of the loan. 1) Use a home or business worth at least 100K for collateral. 2) Send the first 2 loan payments, totaling $953.70, as well as proof of income and my ID. 3) Use a car title from a 2018 model year or newer. 4) A cosigner with an income of at least 82K(which I earlier stated as my own income via email) per year, as well as their proof of income and ID. I started to really suspect something, as I kind of did all along, but still emailed back that I would use option #2. I never emailed my ID, proof of income or check. I pressed the "representative" to send me the loan terms first. Earlier the person I corresponded with the whole time, named, "Jennifer Town," told me the offer was 50K to be paid back over 108 months, at 13% and $476.85 per month. Yea, that math is way off and was a huge red flag. They really take advantage of folks in desperate financial situations. I never sent anything over and "she" refused to send me a copy of the loan agreement before I sent over the "required" info. I implied that I'm on to the scam and her response bordered on exasperated.
