Puppy scam. Paid $750 for a puppy through Zelle (so it's not protected by federal laws since it's not a credit/debit card transaction or check). Right before the puppy's "flight" was supposed to leave, we get an urgent email stating the Vet said the puppy needs a dis-temper vaccine for $50 and an anti-pressure vaccine for $50 and then we must choose a crate for either $400 or $600. When calling the transport company, we were told that the vaccines were temporary and were needed to keep the puppy warm. Huh??? Because the Vet said it was to keep the puppy safe, but don't worry because the vaccine fees and crate fees are refundable in cash when the puppy is delivered. None of this made sense so we asked for a refund. We were then told over text that it was too late for that and we would have to pay a $300 penalty for changing our minds. We threatened to report them to the FBI and then were met with radio silence. All of a sudden these pushy people didn't want to talk anymore and their numbers no longer worked. Too bad we found all this out AFTER making the payment. Both websites looked legit too.
