I received an opportunity message on LinkedIn to be a secret shopper. When I looked in the "about" section, it showed that they would mail a check for me to deposit into my checking account. This raised a red flag so I did some digging and believe this to be a scam.

I received a sponsored message through LinkedIn messaging offering a job as a mystery shopper. The "how it works" section of their website involved receiving and depositing a check - so I did some digging on whether it was a scam and found out there have been previous scams this way through the guise of "mystery shopping".
