I contacted a locksmith who told me that one of their technicians would contact me and come to my house. When the technician called me, I offered to send photos before he arrived in order to receive an accurate estimate for his services. Once he arrived he quoted me and I told him I would have to consider it. He then told me that I owed him $50 for his time and services. When I disagreed he became angry and aggressive. I ended up paying him because I was afraid and am an older woman. I called the business once he left and they informed me that they hire independent contractors for these calls and that they were not sure who they sent. When I pressed them as to how they could send individuals to homes for locksmith services without having any background, they had no excuse. I then asked them to confirm the service fee and they told me it was $29, not $50 as the "technician" had purported.
