Locksmith Scam

I was locked out of my car and called a locksmith. When they arrived, they didn’t discuss anything related to pricing of their services. They attempted to charge me $425 for the service. I explained how that’s a ridiculous amount of money for the service as I’ve had previous locksmiths help me. He then told me he would take $250 for the service which still seemed unreasonable for the service. With suspicion of a non-legitimate company, I stated that I would pay the $250 if they gave me his company name, licensing and insurance information of the company. I have scratches on my door due to his work as well. He refused to give me that information and told me his company name was American Service. I stated that it wasn’t the same company name I called and he pressured me into paying him the money. I called the local non-emergency sheriffs number to ask for advice. As soon as he heard me on the phone with dispatch, he took off in his vehicle.
