I called a locksmith to unlock my door. He quoted me a range of $60-$250 maximum. When the technician arrived, he said it is a $125 service fee plus $425 and refused to complete the service unless we paid him, and demanded payment since he had already arrived. It ended up being $593 plus tax. I called back the main number to complain about the huge difference in price to what I already quoted. The guy basically admitted to scamming me, saying over the phone, "If we told customers the true price on the phone in advance then we wouldn't have any business". He also refused to take credit card after and only accepted cash or Venmo likely to avoid taxes. This is absolutely a scam and action should be taken to prevent this from happening to other people.
