This morning I got a voice message saying "Yes this is Bettie Thompson and I am calling in reference to your federal student loan um I need to discuss your repayment options. There have been some new changes that have uh...taken effect, so if you could give me a call back we can go through all that. The number is 866-974-6260 and it's important if you could have this reference number handy when you call me back, and that is 70705 ...thank you"

I'm not the only person I've seen online getting this call. I found this website where others have given the same account: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-714-905-5318

It seems clear that they are praying on people with student loans and phishing them for their private information.
