Type of a scam Tech Support
Below is a copy of the email sent to me. I had purchased online technical support a few years ago for $200. I could not remember exactly when, but I checked with my bank and credit card company and couldn't find anything around July 2015. I called the phone # in the email and the man said that the company was being seized by the NSA in a few days. A refund check was not an option and a credit card # or debit card # was needed for the refund to occur. The man's accent was middle eastern or Indian. He said that he was offended if a scam was implied. He also told me that they do not phone people although in the email below it says otherwise, and I have received a couple of calls regarding my computer, which I cut-off. When asked his name he said it was Steve Smith. He gave me a phone # that I could call the following day 888-804-9647. He answered the phone identifying himself as Steve. When I asked for the address, he said it so fast that I couldn't understand. When I asked again, he would not give it to me and used a different first name. I did not give me any personal information. I looked up the name on the bottom of email and it is the same as a well know pastor. Could not find a website for a tech support company called Live Technologies. See the email I was sent below:

Type of a scam Tech Support
I called a phone number for my HP printer a while ago and asked for printer support to help me set up my HP printer. I got a middle Eastern man on the phone who was a technician and he told me he was going to fix my laptop for me. He me to pay the company several hundred dollars to fix my computer. He asked me on the phone for my password and other personal information that was inappropriate for him. There was a black box on my PC screen that said technican on it. While this Middle Eastern man was doing wrong with my computer he said to me "don't say NO to me". Soon after that the man told me that he was a scam and that it was easy to fix my computer. I took my laptop to a local Staples for technical support because the man on the phone told me he was a scam.
As it turned out the man on the phone ruined the operating system on my computer and gave my computer a virus and then I could not change my password because this scam man ruined that on my computer for me also.
This cost me at least $150. - $160. for the tech support man at Staples to fix.
Live Technologies is a scam that I reported to the Federal Trade Commission. The company does not deliver printer support at all.
I charged the expensive cost to fix my computer and I was able to recover my damages with Citi Credit Card company for fraud. All the charges were wiped clean for me.
