My friend received an email from our school offering a job opportunity pet sitting for a family member that was moving into the area. The email stated that "lisa" and her husband were moving into the area and were sending their dogs "Alpha" and "Scott" a day ahead of them. I sent a lengthy reply back telling them about what I enjoy doing in my free timr and why I thought I'd be a good fot for the job. 12 hours later I received and email saying I got the job, and that she would need my address, phone number, full name, and zip code in order to send me money that I was to buy dog food, toys, and some "kitchen appliances" that they needed for their home. I wasnt suspicious at all and got very excited about getting my first job ever, until I texted my friend. She said she also got the job, anf we realized that our emails were the same except for the fact that the place they were "moving" into was right down the streets from our (my friend and *'s) respective houses. It was then our families realized we'd been scammed, but thankfully nothing crazy has happened. If I receive money in the mail, I will return to sender so that I am not associated with the money in any way. Watch out everyone, and do your research prior to accepting jobs! My mon looked up the email address and a bunch of scams came up, so this clearly could have been avoided with a little foresight. Stay safe.
