Facebook marketplace. I received an immediate message from an interested buyer who shared their mobile number and asked to speak off Facebook. I texted the mobile number and they asked to send me a 6 digit verification code to prove I was authentic. Google verification sent me a code and I shared it with the buyer. The buyer then said it didn't work and asked to double check the code. It sent a second code and I shared it with the buyer. The buyer complained that something was going wrong and they wanted me to go retrieve more phones. I later realized it was a scam and researched it online and found the Facebook Marketplace Google 6 digit code scam. I went to Google Voice and learned my phone was being used with someone else's account. So I quickly converted the number back to my possession. I am unsure if the scammer has infiltrated any other aspect of my online identity at this time.
