I was in the market for a King Charles cavalier cocker spaniel puppy so I began to search online for what I was looking for. I came across the Lionheart Spaniels website and expressed my interest in a puppy they allegedly had in their possession and began corresponding with them about purchasing said puppy. After long conversation and even a transaction in which official documents were sent to me that I signed and returned, I used the CashApp to send a downpayment after attempting to use Venmo which would not let me send the money. However, I didn’t think anything of it since I had recently been experiencing difficulties with the app. The next day, I had just started to ponder the entire transaction and decided to do some more digging and discovered through social media posts that the website was in fact a scam and took immediate action to try and remedy the stolen money and now access to my banking account, which resulted in them charging my downpayment twice. My goal is to make sure that no one else has the chance to fall for this hurtful scam and will, hopefully, have a better puppy shopping experience than I did.
