I was offered a job as a Remote Customer Service Representative/Admin Personal Assistant for Linamar Corporation Inc. The scammer asked for my full name, mailing address with apartment number, city, state, and zip code, cell phone number, present occupation, and availability, supposedly for a background check. I was also told that I would be put through a week trial assignment to determine work rate and efficiency in carrying out duties.

Upon accepting the job offer, I was wired a check and told to send back a certain amount of money back to the company. I was also told to use the funds to purchase a google play gift card.
