Lifetime Local Reports & Reviews (1)

The initial post for "Lifetime Local" states that any students of Everest Community College, A.K.A. Everest College, Corinthian College, Everest Online University, can apply through them for a " borrower defense to repayment discharge of the federal Direct Loans you took out to attend a school if that school committed fraud by doing something or failing to do something, misrepresented its services, or otherwise violated applicable state law related to your loans or the educational services you paid for." Upon contacting them I described my situation and the man I spoke to was very polite. after a brief summary of the situation he told me I qualified and began to ask me some questions. At first they were seemingly normal questions, he asked for my email, and then told he he would then RESET my FASFA account password. He then asked me for my full social security number, which i never give out, especially over the phone. When I refused he seemed like he lost his train of thought, or like he was looking for a rebutle in his script, and then stated that without that number it wouldnt let him into the system. I told him that I would not give him my information and to please disregard my call. The next day, I recieved a text message instructing me to call a second completely different number. I call the number to humor the text, no answer for 10 minutes while i waited on speaker phone. I hung up, and not a few hour later somone calls me from "Fidelity Docs" to ask me if i need help consolidating my student loans. Today I called the BBB in my local area, come to find out the company "Lifetime Local" used to be called Lifetime Assist, They have Multiple complaints against them to which only two have had a response, they have changed their name multiple times over the course of a few years, and BBB has given them an F rank. When they called again, I mentioned they had an F rank after doing my research and finding out several others have been contacted by these scammers, the rep told me that the BBB charges money for their A+ ranking and they refused to pay that. Also in my research i found that some have actually lost money over the course of the scam, failing to recognize it as such. From what I spoke to the representative about, the "fee" is $100/mo over the course of a year totaling $1200.00. And thats "if the paperwork goes through" Some have mentioned that their initial claim didnt get processed or that they never received their judgement on their loan forgiveness and had to have their paperwork "refiled".
