I was contacted by a Carmin Larin with this company and was told that I qualified to have my student debt reduced and my monthly payments lowered. They sounded very convincing, so I signed with them. Besides talking on the phone a couple of times, the main communication was done by email. I was emailed all the forms to electronically sign. I was told that under the Obama student loan forgiveness program, I qualified to have my payments reduced to $0 due to my household gross income and that it would be re-evaluated every year in January. In order to start me on the program I needed to make 3 payments of $199.67. Those three payments sounded way better than my almost $600 monthly payments, so I agreed and I set up the payments to be automatically debited from my bank account. Everything seemed to be good, but then after two months and I had already made 2 payments, I received an email stating that, due to recent guideline changes wight eh Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, they are no longer allowed to accept payments until services are fully rendered, but that my payments already made would be held in a trust account with RAM Servicing. I immediately tried calling the only # that I had and left messages constantly, but never received a call back. Finally, I received an email stating that to be more productive and to provide excellent service to their customers, they would be checking emails twice daily and if we had any questions to call the direct line (714) 581-5990. Since no one would answer or call back, I sent an email stating that I wanted to terminate my arrangement with the company and was requesting a full refund, which I was entitled to according to the policy agreement they sent me in the beginning. I have not had contact with the business since. I have tried to contact them through the BBB, but even they got no response. Now I am out $399.34. I have already contacted and reported this to my bank and took all percautionary actions, but it looks like I will never see that money again. I just wanted to make others aware, so that this will not happen to someone else.
