I had already begun disputes in regards to my credit on my own and they ensured me that they would see those through and begin some of there own investigations which I paid 14.95 at that time for them to access my "full credit report". However, they wanted to start me on their program right away at $109 per month. That was the first red flag. The second red flag came in when I tried to contact this rent to own program after I asked about a scam and NEVER heard back from the once very eager "Customer Reps" who prior to my accusations, were always available to answer my questions and return my calls.
The process of getting the housing list promised took place just as they said it would, but they were very secretive about the location of homes and homeowners information. They were supposedly waiting for my payment confirmation before they would set me up with a so-called agent in my area to show me these lovely properties. When I questioned having to make a payment prior to even knowing that these homes actually existed, needless to say, my calls for this inquiry were NEVER returned NOR answered when I tried to reach out. Third red flag! Also, I was not able to get a response from them via email (of which was their primary contact when initially sending all of these documents and info).
I decided to contact Lex Law and question their involvement, which of course they vehemintly denied being part of a scam and had little information about the program that "referred" me. I asked them to cancel my service request and any business transactions that were scheduled to come out of my account immediately! The rep insisted that the lawyers had already begun service and that this was going to be charged to me anyway because they bill in advance of services rendered...... BS!
Unfortunately for her that was not an option with me, so I kindly told her during our conversation and emailed her afterwards to let her know that I was filing a report with BBB and cancelling my card so there will be no issue with them going forward. If you or anyone you know see this type of company, please be leary.
If it sounds too good to be true....well IT IS! While I understand that times are hard for everyone right now and some people are very desperate in the search for a place to call their own, we have to be very careful.
I simply despise any business or individual that willingly takes advantage of fellow hard-working Americans. They need to be sought out and destroyed just as we would do terrorists because thats exactly what they are financial terrorists.
