I have signed up for Mystery Jobs online, so when I got an email from someone claiming to have sent a check to me for a job, at first I didn't think anything of it. I finished reading the email and it stated that I needed to place the sent check into my bank account and wait until it is available. At that point, I was to take 400 out to use for the job. I knew that if I placed the check into my account, they would be able to gain access to my account and take everything in it. So to circumvent this, I took the check to the bank on the check to try to cash it instead. The teller took one look at it and stated politely that it wasn't a real check. The account was real, because I had called the main bank to verify that before going to the bank in my location.
