The phone number listed above called stating that Officer so and so was attempting to contact me regarding a serious legal issue. If I did not respond, then they would need to take further action. It instructed me to press 1 to be connected with the officer. I pressed one, asked the "officer" where they were calling from and they immediately hung up on me.

Automated message about a potential legal matter and to stop everything and call this number back. It's clearly a scam, but I thought I'd still try to trip them up by calling back. When you dial the number someone either hangs up or if you call enough times they answer and say they are an "officer with the social security administration" and then call you a MF. Seriously. I feel for people who are scared by these calls and end up being scammed by these terrible people.
