My mother of 79 years of age received a call from Legal Aid in Ashdown Arkansas. My nephew calling crying he needs help, and to please not tell anybody because he is embarrassed. Another individual claiming to be an attorney also gets on call and explains my nephew who was in a car accident and toxicology showing he had alcohol in his system. Goes on to say he hit a pregnant woman who is in ICU. Needs money to post bail of $4000, later in conversation is reduced to $1500. He is in infirmary at courthouse and is being transferred to County Jail. My mother tells him she has to call me because she doesn't know how to send money via computer or phone. He actually gives her a number for me to call. The so called attorney's name is Michael White. He says money can be sent by Zelle or cash app. Went along with it and he gives me the email of [email protected]. I don't know about bail bonds, but I don't think a personal email would be used for money to bail an inmate. I called my nephew and he is nowhere near Arkansas.
