Lead Retrieval Service Reports & Reviews (2)

We received several emails offering to sell us the leads from the upcoming International Sign Association international show. We have purchased such leads in the past. We spoke extensively to the representative, and after some consideration offered to purchase three of the categories presented that represented six categories signed up to get information about the trade show. We missed one important detail -- they guarantee no more than 15 percent hard bounces, which is way over the acceptable amount for programs like MailChimp. We paid about $1300 for the list, which was to include full names, phones, emails, websites, and SIC codes. The first clue was that the SIC codes were often unrelated to the companies, and had nothing to do with the categories we requested. We started with one mailing of 1500 names that should have been the most accurate part of the list. We got a 15% hard bounced and were warned that we would be shut down by MailChimp, so now we don't dare use the rest of the names. We have been checking the websites. Many do not open at all. We got one that was supposedly in the US, and opened to an unrelated business in Germany, all in German (which I luckily read). The list that was supposed to be Colleges and Universities, supposedly sign buyers, was an unrelated group of small companies selling everything from handbags to photo equipment. We doubt they will give us any money back, but stay away from this company.

Scammer offered to sell a contact list with buyers for my industry. I gave initials of some buyers and their company and asked for the full names. He got them right. Everything seemed good. I wired the payment to Preferred Bank and a few days later I got a spreadsheet containing junk contacts. I work with enough accounts that I just looked at those and the names had nothing to do with what he was selling at the outset. A week later and crickets. Won't return emails. Avoid this company as well as these other two involved in the scam: expositionleadworld.com and tradeeventsgroup.com
