A lady named Kat Smith keeps calling, states she is with LDR Group. Tells me I have credit card debt that has to be paid today or it will be sent to the county I live in. That they will prosecute me for it. When I asked her to send me a copy she said she had. Told me the address she sent it to, when I told her that was the wrong address and gave her the correct address. She said her manager told her she couldnt send me a copy because they had already mailed out all that they legally had to. I believe this is a scam. They call almost everyday saying the same thing.

Called asking for me, then my husband on my cell- vague complaints, threats of court and legal action, then called my brother looking for me. All on voicemails. I did not answer.

Got a call from LDR Group (not on caller id) from person named Sylvia Wilson, 719-309-0859 x3003 telling me that I had a $29,000 debt with Citibank from 1989 to 2012 and how would I like to settle the debt. When I asked to send me a written notice, she said they have been (but were sending to my old address in Oklahoma which I have not been living at since 2004). When I asked again to send a written notice, she said they did and because the alleged notices were not returned, I was marked RTP or refused to pay. I told her that the CFDCA required written notice by a debt collector and she said those notices were sent out, although never to my new address in Colorado since 2004. Yet all my other creditors new where to send my credit card bills. My identity was stolen in January and I put a freeze on all 3 credit bureaus. She then said that if I am claiming this is not my debt that if they could match up my signature with what they had, I would be charged with credit card fraud. I contacted a friend who owns a credit repair business and he said this was a fraud. It was scary because she threatened to take me to court without providing just cause. There is nothing on my credit reports of this alleged debt as I have 0 collections and 0 negative data on any of the 3 credit reporting agencies.
