Company calls in reference to an account that I was listed as a reference for. I have no idea of the name or reference to whom they are speaking. When I began to ask questions people were very rude and hung up

They called me stating they received my information from another company called Alliance Online and that I owed money for a cash advance I was given back in 2012. They said I owed $1070 but they would settle for $588.50 and they wanted me to make a payment over the phone using my debit card. They even had an account # from the supposed account which has been closed since 2011. I called Bank of America who assured me I had never received any deposits from Alliance Online. When I called them back to give them the info the bank advised me of they got very snappy and claimed it was all legitimate information then hung up on me.
