I received the attached flier in the mail saying I had won $20,000 during Landmark Chevrolet's giveaway. I called the "event hotline" number (716-317-7860) and said that I had received a flier stating I won $20,000. I gave the operator the verification number from the flier (738552). The operator confirmed that I did win $20,000 and that if I were to come in this week I could redeem the prize. I then called the Landmark Chevrolet business line (716-358-9009) and confirmed with them that there was a cash giveaway event taking place. I then called the business line a second time to confirm that the "prize coordinator" would be there until 8pm when I could be there. I had recently purchased a Chevy pickup truck and after receiving confirmation from so many people decided it was reasonable to believe this was a legitimate giveaway event. When I arrived at Landmark Chevrolet the rules of the giveaway changed and they claimed that my flier was only worth a free lottery ticket because the verification number did not match the verification number they had posted on a board in their office. They gave me a lottery ticket after asking me several questions about my vehicle. It was all just a ruse to try to get people to come to the dealership and sell vehicles. I have additional pictures of all sides of the flier. The following day I called the "event hotline" number again as I was upset about wasting my time and the woman answering the phone told me that they had already talked to me and that she was the same employee from the office. When I asked for further details and expressed disatisfaction at wasting my time she hung up on me.
