Spent 700 for a puppy that I seen on the website. Paid through Zelle quick pay, then received a receipt from a shipping agency saying the dog needed a temperature regulated crate. Extra 1200 dollars. I looked this up and found out I was being scammed!!

My wife and I were looking to buy a labrador retriever. We found the website labradorretrieverpuppiesforhope.com on the first page of a google search. The puppies were approximately $600-$700, cheaper for the breed. When we emailed them, they said they were going to give us discounts on the sale and delivery. They requested money through cashapp but we requested zelle, assuming it would be safer... It wasn't. A few hours later, we were told that the puppy was at the airport and required a special crate, costing $1250. He told us $1200 would be refunded on arrival. A few hours later, he texted my wife saying that there was another problem, we needed insurance, another $1195 which would also be refunded... He asked us if we would like cash or check for the refund. After that he told us the puppy had been quarentined and needed extended tests, costing another $2840. We had enough and reported the incident to our bank and the BBB. I hope no one else falls victim. There was also a "shipping company" involved, sending us transit updates including google map displays. The fake shipping company was named "International Swift Deliveries". They included fake tracking info, departure and arrival time, as well as our information. These people said whatever they could to make my wife feel like there was still hope and it was our fault for not paying more.
