I received a call from a local number in my area code and when I answered, an automated message informed me I had a past due balance with Entergy and my account was in danger of being disconnected in 30 min if I did not resolve the balance. It then provided a phone number, 800-805-6275, to reach Entergy billing or the option to press 1 to speak to a representative. I pressed 1 and the foreign-sounding male asked me for my account number. Knowing full well this was a scam as I am not an Entergy customer, I played along and told him I did not have it. He then asked for the phone number associated with my account so I gace him the number I was calling from. He then tells me I have a past due balance and tells me my address associated with the account which is, in fact, my address. He then gives me my maiden name. At this point, I tell him I am aware this is a scam because I am not an Entergy customer and that I have recorded the entire conversation and plan to turn it over to the local police and BBB. He tells me to have a nice day and hangs up. I then google the 1-800 number stated in the automated message and the business associated with the number is L2 (or L-squared) Consulting and they have a website and all. I call the 1-800 number at this time to see if it is a legitimate business but the same guy answers stating this is Entergy billing. I asked him what L2 Consulting is and he is confused and says he is not aware, this is Entergy. I tell him when I google this number, L2 comes up. I sent a message to L2 on their website advising them that their number is being used for Entergy scams, unless they are, in fact, in on the scam. To me, it seems they are.
