The scammer contacted me through Instagram. First the scammer liked five posts of mine on Instagram, then followed my Instagram account. I followed back, and the scammer contacted me through the message system via Instagram. Pretended to be a female Marine named Kwon Seo, stationed in the Middle East. Developed "a relationship" with me over the course of six days over Google Chat. On the sixth day, the scammer requested that I buy an ITunes IPhone card so that we could continue to communicate through the Internet, because "her" military commander had been complaining about Internet use at the alleged military base where the scammer was stationed. I started to do research on this, first checking out the card, then typing in some of the conversation, that I found out to be a script posted elsewhere online. I also learned about the signs of military romance scams; so, I blocked the scammer at Instagram, and Google Chat, where we had switched over to chat, shortly after the contact was established via Instagram. Scammer has my email address, plus two photos that I sent. Scammer also sent 2 photos to me. When I looked up the name, Kwon Seo on Facebook, there are multiple accounts for this person. I am concerned that this person's - the actual real person being impersonated - has been taken advantage of by identity theft. The emotional toll on me has been very challenging. I need to heal from this. That is my main focus. Although, I would like to help others through awareness and prevention. I am enclosing the 2 photos that the scammer sent to me. Thank you very much.
