I have applied to over 1000 jobs since my last job(this is not an exaggeration, my therapist told me to stop counting after 1000). I received an email from a person claiming to be "Verena Meister". I interviewed via Zoom and everything seemed legit and they were very professional. I am constantly aware of scams, especially with how many fake job offers I have received. So I checked the website, I checked to see if they were a legitimate company, and I checked the Better Business Bureau. Everything checked out and I even got an offer letter that looked legitimate as well. I filled out the paperwork with my personal information such as the W-2 and USCIS form. Afterward, they sent me a check to purchase the materials I would need for the job, which was a red flag but I already gave them my information so I played along. I tried contacting the company directly just to be hung up on immediately after having me wait on the phone line for over half an hour. This incurred me a $150 long-distance bill and no help. I tried contacting the company via email and social media just to be left on read. It's been weeks and I haven't heard anything back but I did receive very large cashier checks. So I'm 99% sure that I am [censored]ed and my identity has been stolen cause they have everything.

I was contacted through text regarding jobs I have been applying to through Indeed and LinkedIn. They asked if I was a mailable for an interview for a position I applied for in Data entry. I was told to contact the hiring manager through Microsoft Teams to schedule an interview. I contacted the hiring manager, Laura Ranz which scheduled me for an immediate interview that would consist of only instant message. She sent forth detailed information about the company and the positions they are looking for. She went ahead and sent some questionnaires which I responded to. She said she would forward them to the rest of the supervisors and get back to me. I was then offered the position and asked if I would like to be paid weekly or biweekly, direct deposit or physical check. I was to send over my name, email, phone number and address. This would be to email me my onboarding paperwork and mail me a check to pay for software I would need to fulfill my position as data entry. I was then told to login promptly at 8am the following day to make sure the documents were received. These documents consisted of I-9, W-4 forms. I did not send them this information and it seemed like red flags starting with the fact it would only be an instant message interview and they would be sending a check.
