Kroger Secret Shopper Imposter Reports & Reviews (2)

- Las Vegas, NV, USA

I was contacted about working as a Kroger secret shopper I received a check in the amount of $2900 drawn on AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union I was asked to go to a Kroger store in Las Vegas and buy Google play cards totaling $2500 and keep the $400 as my pay

the check # is 01 0001412156 dated 12/06/18

Because I am a regular Kroger shopper when it came up on my Facebook account asking me to sign up as a secret shopper, I did so. Never connecting it was a scam. I received a text, which I have saved telling me to expect a packet in the mail with directions on what to do. On Monday I received the packet via priority mail with a letter appearing to be on Kroger letter head as well as a Cashier's check in the amount of $1,750.00. The directions told me what to do, using $50 to shop, keeping $400 and returning 1300$ to them via money gram. I have not pursued as it is obviously not official Kroger stationary nor does the check upon inspection appear to be a true check. And, of course, they want me to send them money back. This is a scam (they also called CVS CSV instead and had a misspelled word in the letter. I do not have the means to scan and send you the documents, but I will retain them. As well, I will retain the text message and the 2 emails I have received. If you can provide additional information on getting this to you, I am more than happy to do so.
